Crimp tool calibration ensures that your tool is working at all times within the original specifications when initially constructed.

At we can calibrate all makes and models of crimping tools in our own in-house laboratory. We pride ourselves on our quick turnaround and excellent service and will aim to get your crimpers back to you as soon as we possibly can to minimise your downtime and ensure you can keep on working.

Cost and Turn-around Time

Crimping tool calibration starts from £65+VAT and can generally be carried out within 3 days.

We will require your crimping tool, unused crimps and cable samples shipping with your crimp tool in order to carry out the calibration and verification.

Crimp Tool Capabilities

Our calibration laboratory is capable of calibration the vast majority of crimping tools up to 400Nm.

Calibrating a Crimp Tool

The tool is subjected to a pull test in accordance with BS EN60352-2: 2006 section 5. Under this procedure the crimp will be examined carefully and a pull test will be performed using a suitable sample. Force is applied to the tool and the crimp joint should be able to withstand this force without degradation to the joint.

Depending on the cross section of the crimp, a different amount of force in Newtons will be applied. accommodates for a wide range of crimp tools with different cross sections, including conductor sizes of 2.5mm squared for open, pre-insulated crimp barrels and 1.5mm squared for closed crimp barrels.
